World Children’s Day:SONAMINES, a Key Player in Advocating for Children’s Rights

With its new strategy rolled out since the beginning of 2025, SONAMINES was undoubtedly ahead of time, promoting children's rights through children themselves, thereby making them ambassadors to their peers in the fight against child labour in mines.

For five years, SONAMINES has been working daily to ensure respect for children's rights in mining areas through awareness-raising activities and, above all, by listening to this target group

The celebration of the World Children's Day this 20 November 2025, on the theme ‘My Day, My Rights’, is a perfect opportunity for SONAMINES to reiterate its commitment to promoting the rights of children in mining communities through outreach campaigns, direct discussions, schooling, contributions to improving school infrastructure and support for teachers. 20 Novembre 2025, sous le thème « Ma journée mes droits », est un prétexte tout trouvé pour la SONAMINES, de réitérer son engagement à promouvoir des droits des enfants des localités minières à travers, des campagnes de proximité, des échanges directs, la scolarisation, la contribution à l’amélioration de l’infrastructure scolaire, le soutien aux enseignants.
