December 11, 2025 . By: sonamines
The twenty-sixth session of the Board of Directors of the National Mining Corporation (SONAMINES S.A) was held on Thursday, 11 December 2025, at the company's headquarters, located at Avenue Marc Vivien FOE in Yaoundé, under the chairmanship of Mr BETTY AMOUKO Jackson, Chairman of the Board.
Mr Serge Hervé BOYOGUENO, General Manager, reported the items on the agenda, assisted by Mr FRU Jonathan, Deputy General Manager.
The work, carried out with a particular emphasis on performance and diligence, resulted in the adoption of the 2026 Annual Activity Plan for the third year of implementation of the company's 2023-2030 Strategic Development Plan and, consequently, the budget for the 2026 financial year, which, in terms of revenue and expenditure, amounts to CFAF 9,968,321,424 (nine billion nine hundred and sixty-eight million three hundred and twenty-one thousand four hundred and twenty-four).
In this regard, capital expenditure is focused on strengthening equity capital, securing its land assets, speeding up work on its exploration permits, and prospecting for new mining sites. Absolute priority is given to controlling the gold sector and marketing gold, in order to assert the Corporation's central and quasi-sovereign role in the management of this resource in Cameroon.
The successful implementation of the planned actions will depend on the swift remediation of certain operational, fiscal and regulatory constraints that are hampering SONAMINES’ core business.
At the end of this session, the members of the Board of Directors expressed their deep satisfaction and congratulated the Top Management for the quality of the documents presented, its unwavering efforts and the company's performance, particularly with regard to its missions as a state agent.
The Board of Directors recommended the Senior Management to take the necessary steps to implement short-term projects aimed at generating immediate revenue and replenishing the company's cash flow, while encouraging it to consolidate SONAMINES' position as a key player in the national mining sector.
