The General Manager of the National Mining Corporation was received in audience on Tuesday 02 April 2024 by the Spanish Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Ignacio Garcia Lumbreras.

The noble mission of promoting and developing Cameroon's mining sector except for hydrocarbons and quarries, requires SONAMINES to be constantly on the front line, showcasing our mineral potential and attracting potential investors. In this vein, Serge Hervé Boyogueno has taken the initiative of meeting some of the diplomatic missions in our country, in his quest for potential partners. At the Spanish Embassy in Cameroon, he made no bones about presenting the structure placed under his responsibility in particular, and Cameroon's mineral wealth in general. He went on outlining the various areas of partnership that could be of interest to Spanish companies, in the specific fields of mining and beneficiation of mineral substances. In response, the Spanish Ambassador welcomed SONAMINES' approach, while reassuring the General Manager of their expertise in the areas highlighted. He therefore undertook to support SONAMINES in its search for strategic partners, by making available the data required to implement specific projects. The Embassy will equally liaise between Cameroon and Spanish, enabling them to lay the foundations for a fruitful partnership. To this end, there will be need to set up a simplified collaboration framework after these initial discussions to facilitate all future actions.
