{"id":1529,"date":"2024-02-05T18:28:00","date_gmt":"2024-02-05T18:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sonamines.cm\/?p=1529"},"modified":"2024-02-08T06:03:31","modified_gmt":"2024-02-08T06:03:31","slug":"promotion-du-bilinguisme-la-sonamines-joue-sa-partition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sonamines.cm\/en\/promotion-du-bilinguisme-la-sonamines-joue-sa-partition\/","title":{"rendered":"Promotion of Bilinguism : SONAMINES Plays its Part"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>SONAMINES teamed up with the national community on Friday, 02 February 2024 to carry out activities marking Cameroon National Bilingualism Week.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The staff of the National Mining Corporation (SONAMINES) gathered in a cheerful atmosphere to celebrate the 19th Edition of the National Bilingualism Week placed under the theme: \"Bilingualism: a vector od Digitalization of Education and the Promotion of Civic and Moral Values for a Peaceful and Emergent Cameroon\". It was an opportunity to review and discuss bilingualism through Law 2019\/019 of 24 December 2019 on the promotion of official languages in Cameroon, a legal instrument that attests to the pressing need to strengthen the use of English and French. This working session had the merit of highlighting the rights and obligations of Cameroonians in the promotion of official bilingualism nationwide.<sup>i\u00e8me <\/sup>\u00e9dition de la semaine du bilinguisme sous le th\u00e8me\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0<strong>Bilinguisme\u00a0: vecteur de digitalisation des enseignements et de la promotion des valeurs civiques et morales pour un Cameroun pacifique et \u00e9mergent<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb. L\u2019occasion \u00e9tait toute donn\u00e9e, pour faire le tour sur la question du bilinguisme au travers de la loi n\u00b0 2019\/019 du 24 d\u00e9cembre 2019, portant promotion des langues officielles au Cameroun\u00a0; instrument juridique qui atteste de l\u2019imp\u00e9rieuse n\u00e9cessit\u00e9, de renforcer l\u2019usage de l\u2019anglais et du fran\u00e7ais.
